Welcome to the Atlantis Archives – your one stop resource to uncovering the mystery behind the fabled lost continent.
With an interest in ancient myths and legends from as long back as I can remember I have always been fascinated with the subject of Atlantis and had built up a small library of books (both fiction ad non-fiction) on the subject. With that in mind I set out with the idea of creating a website that offered a single point of reference on the subject instead of having to search through the many hundreds of web sites that usually only offer small and trivial details regarding Atlantis.
What can you expect from the Atlantis Archives?
Atlantis Archives has a very much open policy. When focussing on a single subject which itself at first glance appears to have only Plato’s dialogues as its source of origin, it is difficult to determine what should or shouldn’t be included. However, with an ever increasing number of books being written on Atlantis, as well as movies and television shows there will be a diverse range of views and opinions that range from the completely ludicrous to those that are scientifically backed with in-depth analysis. Although the site will tend to avoid covering the ludicrous (unless it has value in bringing a smile to the casual reader) it is intended that the Atlantis Archives will largely maintain an impartial view in what is published on the site and let you the reader determine how such information should be perceived. As the Atlantis Archives expands you will not only be able to find the latest news articles and links to documentaries and video clips, but also reviews of books on Atlantis and feature length articles that provide an analysis of past and present theories as well as what it may have been like for a person living at the time Atlantis is believed to have existed.
